Vertical Post-Tensioning

CCL Scandinavia uses vertical post-tensioning to stabilize the core of a building by absorbing horizontal loads. The increased rigidity achieved by this method delivers enhanced crack resistance and reduces the number of stabilizing walls, enabling the design of a more flexible layout.

Vertical post-tensioning can be used in all building types (although typically buildings with more than three storeys) combined with precast or post-tensioned slabs. This method of post-tensioning is typically used in elevators and staircases where the system is anchored at the base of the structure, connected through the floors using special flexible couplers, and then stressed from the top.

The injection of grout then bonds the system to provide additional strength and contribute to the robustness of the structure.
